A1 vs Uncovered FC Preview
27/02/2009
UFC will be looking to record their first win of the year when they face A1 in a friendly game on Saturday.
Having gone down 3-2 to Grimsby's InToNet Mariners last week, a sharper performance is expected and Uncovered will be looking to get back to winning ways.
With Darlington away at Exeter, a depleted squad will travel to Yarm's Conyers School.
Both of last week's goalscorers, Gary Mann and Dave Kimmons, have ruled themselves out of the fixture, leaving the likes of Tom Breedon and Dave Aiken to provide the firepower.
With regular Goalkeeper Nick Woodward unavailable, along with Luke Stott, David Robinson is preparing himself for another stint between the sticks:
"I don't mind playing in goal, it's not like we have alot of choice either." said Robinson, who last week exchanged angry words with Woodward following Grimsby's second goal, which led to to the 'keeper storming off mid-game.
"If i do play there though i wont be walking off in a huff!"
If someone has a go at me I try to prove them wrong, not look like I've chucked my toys out of a pram."
The biggest selection headache will come in central midfield, with Ronnie Wells, Andy Ashmore and Craig Stoddart all looking to start.
Craig Brooker and Nick Richardson could well make up the left hand side, similar to how they both finished last week's game.
Phil Thornberry is still struggling so may take up a place on the bench, whilst Barry Thompson may become available too late to make the starting line-up.
Possible line-up:
